Clarke County and Oconee County Schools will be on Spring Break April 5th - 9th 2021. We've gathered all the ways that your family can have fun for Spring Break in and around Athens, GA. From local activities, to day trip ideas, we have you covered!
- Visit a local park. There are so many wonderful parks around Athens. You can take the family for a bike ride, have a picnic, go fishing, or fly a kite.
- Take a day trip. Check out this list of 20 places to visit that are within a few hours of Athens. There are many falls, gardens, and state parks that can provide a whole day of fun!
- Camp in the backyard. Get those tents out, make some smores around the fire, and play some games. You can even create a movie car for your own drive-in movie! Your backyard can provide so much family fun.
- Have a movie night. Between all the popular movie streaming apps (like Disney, Hulu, Netflix, and HBO Max) you will be sure to find a movie that the whole family will love. If you haven't seen it already, YES DAY on Netflix was a huge hit for my family. So grab the popcorn and snuggle up on the couch, but be prepared for your kids to make their own wild requests. End the week with a Movies by Moonlight hosted by ACC Leisure Services, it's FREE!
- Make some art! Check out ARTini's, Frog Stomp Studio, Treehouse Kid and Craft, Board and Brush Athens, or The K.A. Artist Shop for lots of art family fun. You can also visit Lyndon House Arts Center or Georgia Museum of Art.
- Go on a local scavenger hunt. There are multiple murals in Athens as well as the bulldog statues. Can you find them all?
- Attend a Spring Break Camp. ACC Leisure Services is offering camps at Lay Park, Sandy Creek Nature Center, Rocksprings Community Center, and East Athens Community Center. There are many opportunities for children ages 4-12. Check out Sew Sew Studio for for daily mini camps!
