Score Big With Your Library Card This September

By Jessica Sweeney, Publisher, Macaroni KID Athens September 4, 2024

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, a nation-wide initiative aimed to encourage communities to sign up for a library card and to explore the resources and services that libraries offer. This year, local businesses all over the Athens and Oconee area have donated some incredible raffle prizes up for grabs for those who participate. Stop by any of the 11 Athens Regional Library System locations (listed below) between now and the end of September to score autographed sports books, footballs, candy, board games, tickets and deals to some of our Athens-favorite spots, and so much more! Winners will be announced on October 2nd.

There's several ways to earn a FREE raffle ticket:

  • Sign-up for a new library card or renew an expired one,
  • If you are an existing cardholder, you can refer a friend to either sign-up or renew,
  • Take a picture of the prize baskets at the library and give a shout out on social media (be sure to tag the library location or show it to a staff member!),
  • Pick up and complete tasks in the Pines Passport.

Your library card is the smartest card in your wallet. It offers you access to a world of books, online resources, movies and more! Best of all? It’s FREE!
