Thrift-able Items for the Holiday Season

By Amanda Sowell, Classic City Thrifts December 6, 2020

Below are simple, thrift-able items for anyone looking to do some budget and/or eco-friendly shopping this holiday season! These items can be found at a fraction of the cost at a thrift store, and as a thrift shopper you get the added satisfaction that you are keeping perfectly fine items in circulation and out of landfills (win, win!).

  • Vases/large jars- to add flowers, candies, cookies, etc. The limit does not exist with what these could be used for during the holidays.
  • Baskets - takes the gift presentation to the next level, and the basket becomes a gift itself!
  • Wrapping paper- sometimes even brand new, unopened rolls for less than $1
  • Children’s books- literally hundreds to choose from, most in excellent condition.
  • Children’s toys- thrift stores generally have a large selection of plastic children’s toys (dump trucks, jumbo legos, etc) that look brand new and are easy to sanitize
  • Christmas decor- wreaths, Christmas trees, stockings, table cloths, plates, mugs, Sometimes even vintage and extra special.
