What Kids Learn in Spanish Classes at The Hello House
The Hello House provides a fun foundation for Spanish which builds upon itself in each course. We teach vocabulary and expressions using lots of repetition and themed units. Our goal is for students to find joy in learning another language and feel confident expressing themselves through that language. Students will gain an appreciation for Spanish and the culture of its speakers.
Classes are primarily speaking and conversation-based, but older students will be introduced to reading and writing Spanish as well. It’s important to us that we do hands-on activities, crafts, songs, stories, recipes, and games to help all kids learn in a fun, multi-sensory environment. We encourage families to get involved by practicing Spanish at home, listening to Spanish music, and cultivating an open atmosphere for language learning.

How to Register for Classes
Parents can register for fall semester, which includes classes from August to December. Classes are $80/month.
Each class meets for one hour. Fall semester classes start the week of August 11, but we still allow kids to join up to two weeks after our courses begin!
We invite parents to select their kids’ availability during the registration process, and then we create the class times from parent responses. We find that many families really appreciate this aspect of our registration, because it increases the chance that a class is offered at a convenient time for each family.
In the future, we plan to offer some stand-alone “Grown-up and Me” Spanish classes for 3- and 4-year-olds who aren’t quite old enough to join our regular weekly classes.
