Take a look at this season’s opportunities for young learners ages K4–6

By Jessica Sweeney, Publisher, Macaroni KID Athens September 30, 2025

Exciting things are happening with Athens Academy’s enrichment and afterschool programs! This fall, Athens Academy is expanding their K46 programs that are designed to spark creativity, encourage physical wellness, and build lifelong friendships.

Parents and caregivers now have additional opportunities to enroll their children in a wide range of engaging classes and active play time. With more than 25 different offerings, kids have the chance to try new things and build their confidence after their school day is over. From athletics and movement to arts, cooking, STEM, and wellness, there’s something for every child's interests.

With over 300 students joining afterschool programming this semester, it shows just how popular these opportunities have become! According to Auxiliary Programs Director Thad Mathis, “This is just the initial batch of enrichments, and we are excited to grow the programs even more throughout the year.”

Athens Academy’s enhanced programming ensures families have access to a safe, structured, and engaging environment each afternoon. Students can enjoy supervised play with support, and participate in group activities that encourage teamwork and social-emotional development.

Take a quick look at some of their Afterschool Extended Day and Enrichment options for the 2025–2026 fall season below. Enrollment is now open and will be updated as needed.

Athletics & Movement
Students are staying active through cheerleading for grades 1st–6th, flag football for grades 1st–4th, tackle football for grades 5th–6th, and skill-building in baseball.

Younger children can explore preschool dance and yoga, karate, or TOTs (Teams of Tomorrow) basketball, while programs like Girls on the Run and Georgia Strength promote health and fitness in fun, age-appropriate ways.

Arts, STEM & Academics
Students can dive into art classics with jewelry making, or by joining the Middle School Strings program.

Budding engineers and problem-solvers are loving Sparbots Robotics, with more than 30 students building and learning as part of the team. Plus, the Kindness Club  offers younger students a chance to focus on character building and community.

Extended Day
All age groups are able to participate in outdoor recreation and age-appropriate small group activities before enrichment classes begin.
