Clarke County School District Serves Lunch All Summer!

By Julia Hembree May 23, 2015
"For many children throughout northeast Georgia, school is much more than a place to learn; it is also the only reliable source of food in their lives. Consequently, weekends become a time of uncertainty and hunger anxiety. From the time they leave school on Friday afternoons until they return Monday morning, these most vulnerable children may not know when or even if they’ll be able to get a meal." ~ Food 2 Kids Program, Food Bank of Northeast Georgia

School is out for the summer, but for those students who rely on school meals, lunch will still be served.

The Clarke County School District will serve free lunch to all children ages 1 to 18 June 1st to July 24th from 11 AM to 1 PM, regardless of financial need.

Sites of service include Gaines Road Elementary and Clarke Middle.
